A Treasure Hunt in the Threatened Forest

In the area of El Chaparral there is a forest called El Bosque del Chaparral. It is in danger of disappearing because of tree felling and possible construction of houses. You can read more about it here, and here, and here

It is also an area where several geocaches are hidden. To read more about geocaches see www.geocaching.com. It is great fun for adults and children and helps you to find beautiful and interesting places you might not otherwise find.

So on Monday 27 March we are organizing an easy walk in the area, to see the area and to find 5 geocaches. The walk starts at 16:00 (remember to put your clock forward by one hour on Sunday 26 March!) and the starting point is at the roundabout where the streets Calle Doma and Arrabal Hipódromo Costa del Sol meet. The route to the meeting point from El Soto Club can be seen on this map (about 20 minutes drive) and parking there is easy.
The walk will take about 2 hours of easy walking, including finding the hidden geocaches.

You can see pictures and the route of the walk on Google Earth on this link and there is a photo of that route at the end of this page.

To see where the geoaches are hidden you will need to download the geocaching app on your phone. The app can be downloaded from:
